THE NEW AGE

A new town, Nova Gorica rose up from the dirt after World War 2, close to the Italian town of Gorizia. From the leftovers of previous trades, Nova Gorica's  industry blossomed. (the joinery trade in Solkan, the iron trade in Čepovan and Lokovec and the brick trade in Bilje.

SOCIAL PROSPERITY

Time changes everything and so the town began looking for new ways to develop. With the birth of a new country, a rebirth of cultural and sport activities, tourism and casinos swept the new republic.

''The town of roses'' is not just a place to have fun, but much more. It is becoming a true university town, a technological town, and a town that looks after all its inhabitants.

POLITICAL INTELLECT

The first of May 2004 was a historical day for Slovenia, when she joined the EU. This was the day when  the border between Nova Gorica and Gorizia was gone forever. It was also a great step towards cohabitation and the unity of both towns.

THE VISIONS OF THE FUTURE

Due to its geographical position, succesful trades and big investment projects, Nova Gorica will one day become the centre of the whole Goriška region.
