Nova Gorica lies in the west of Slovenia, right on the Italian border and represents a significant starting point for the entire region. It is between the north and south part of Primorska, the Friuli – Venezia Guilia region between Slovenia and Italy and between the Mediterranean and the continent. It is a key logistics point between Eastern and Western Europe.
… it is situated in the centre of the strategically developed tourist provinces such as the Soča and Vipava valleys, Goriška Brda, the Karst and the Po lowland. It is also halfway between the Alps and the Slovenian coast.
»The town on the green« or »The town of roses« is becoming the main town of the whole Goriška region, with its developing economy and tourism. Due to its favourable location, Nova Gorica is gaining an ever more important strategic position. It lies at the centre point between Ljubljana, Venice, Koper and Trieste and is also alongside the fifth corridor, which is the trans-european traffic network between Lisbon and Kiev.
